Take a few minutes today to read Matthew 5:1-48.
For Reflection:
- Summarize in one sentence who is blessed and why.
- Jesus compared us to salt and light. What do you think He meant by these comparisons?
- The standard Jesus set for entrance into the kingdom of heaven was perfection (see verse 20). He fulfilled the Law and the Prophets (see verse 17) by living a sinless life and sacrificing His life for us. We do not enter the kingdom of heaven by meeting His standard. This would be impossible! Rather, we enter heaven through Christ and His perfection.

P – Praise: Thank you for fulfilling the Law and the Prophets. Thank you for becoming the perfect savior!
R – Repent: I turn from my selfish life, and desire to become more like You.
A – Ask: Fill me with Your Spirit, and help me walk in holiness.
Y – Yield: I will obey You and let my light shine for You.
