Take a few minutes today to read Matthew 11:1-30.
For Reflection:
- What do you think Jesus meant when he said, “the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it”?
- According to Jesus, the judgment will be more bearable for some than for others. How does this shape your ideas about the day of judgment?
- When we come to Jesus to find rest for our souls, what is the one characteristic he requires of us? (See verse 29)
Prayer Starters:
P - Praise: Lord, You are the promised Messiah, the Son of God! Yet you are a friend of sinners. You are gentle and humble, and you give rest to those who do not deserve it.
R - Repent: Forgive me for refusing to heed Your call. Forgive me for my hardened, prideful heart.
A - Ask: As I come to You, give me rest, I pray. Reveal Your truth to me.
Y - Yield: I will walk with You and learn from You all the days of my life.
Have A Great Day!
