Our pride and selfish ambition keep us from living all-out for God. We become lazy in our faith or ignore God altogether because we have other things we’d rather pursue. In the end, we fail to make a difference in the world around us, our lives are filled with shame and guilt, and we live in chaos and confusion.
Join us as we begin a new six-part message series that will cover the book of Philippians entitled “Shine Like A Star”. Here is a brief outline of the series.
Audition July 22, 2007
I want Grace Community Church to be like the church in Philippi in which everyone played a role in helping the church shine. Do you want to be part of the starring cast?
Work Hard July 29, 2007
If you want to be part of God’s starring cast, you must work hard. No one shines like a star without suffering through the difficult times.
Be Humble August 5, 2007
The brightest stars shine for others. Selfishness, arrogance and pride will quickly dim the light of any star.
No Excuses August 12, 2007
Stardom is earned through perserverance and by taking risks. Stardom is the result of multiple victories and multiple failures. Stars don’t make excuses; they make things happen.
On Purpose August 19, 2007
Stars don’t lose sight of what they’re doing. They keep their visions and goals directly in front of themselves and continually strive to achieve them.
Shine Together August 26, 2007
Catch a glimpse of the Milky Way on a clear moonless night and that will say it all. One star can shine in the night, but a host of stars will light up the world.
